Seventh Symposium on
System Analysis and Design

Call for Papers

General SIGSAND Information

SIGSAND is the AIS special interest group on System Analysis and Design. SIGSAND provides services such as news, announcement of conferences and call for papers, portals for working papers, research, and teaching, sponsorship of tracks at major conferences, an annual symposium, listserv, and special issues in journals. SIGSAND also has an international presence, that is growing, as evidenced by its international chapters.

Submission Guidelines

Faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars are invited to submit completed research papers, research in progress papers, or extended position statements in the area of Systems Analysis and Design. Issues addressed in submissions can range from the creation of new systems analysis and design formalisms and development methods (grammars and methods), to the evaluation of new or existing formalisms and methods by examining issues involving their use (scripts and context), to polemic arguments on the potential value of the approach. Given the broad range of issues in this call, submissions can be anchored in any of a range of research methods including: formal analysis, systems development (design science), experiments, case studies, and field studies.

Submission Process

Authors who are considering submitting to the symposium must notify the organizing committee of their intent, and provide a brief overview of the planned submission by January 31, 2007. Notifications of Intent and Submissions should be sent via email to sigsand@byu.edu. All submissions should be double-spaced and use 12-point font in either Word or PDF format. Submissions will be reviewed by the symposium organizers for relevance and contribution to SA&D. Accepted submissions will receive in-depth feedback from symposium participants and will be collected in proceedings. Authors will retain copyright on their work, allowing them to submit revised versions of their papers in other outlets. Final versions of papers must be submitted using the template developed for the proceedings. Each submission should indicate the submission type on the cover page. The following length limits apply:

Completed research - 5,000 words
Research in Progress - 3,000 words
Position statements - 2,500 words
